To My Dearest Fans,
Iam eternally grateful for the love and support I have received for many years globally from you all! I hope I can share love through my music and bring happiness to all of you in some small way. 🙂
As many of my fans know, I come from a humble home with no musical background but was encouraged by from my Grandfather to sing with my sister and cousins. It was my dad who was immensely talented without any musical background in his childhood. However, he didn’t take it up professionally and became an Advocate. My first experience on stage was when I was 8 years old. Surprisingly, I was more excited than nervous because my Uncle, Late Mr. C. Venkatachalam believed in my voice. I sang “Teri Adaaon Pe Marta Hoon” from the Movie, Gupt along with my darling Cousin Sailu. It was then when my musical journey truly began and Music, soon became my passion, my life… I used to spend many hours a day listening to Lataji, Rafi Sahab, Kishore da, Ghantasala Sir, S. P. Balasubramaniam amongst others.
My passion for music overtook my interest in studies so I was put into a Boarding School for 2 years without much access to music. During this time, the only song that kept my passion close to heart was A. R. Rehman Sir’s Version of “Vande Mataram” which I used to sing at Patriotic occasions in Boarding School. I came back home to pursue my Engineering but was even more driven to pursue Music even if it meant juggling College and Music together. Through this decision, I met my first Guruji Smt. Haripriya (Hyderabad Sisters) who inspired me to learn Carnatic Music. I devoted 5 years to learning Music which still remains the best part of my Musical journey in life and more importantly, the reason I am here today!I graduated with 2 degrees, one in Engineering and one in Carnatic Music, but with one Vision – that I want to be a Playback Singer. This Dream seemed closer to me when I participated and happen to win a few Regional Competitions across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. These Competitions helped me pave the way into Tollywood (the Telugu Film Industry) to begin with. I sang over 20 Songs in Tollywood and wanted to share my love for music at a National level. This led me to participating in the Indian Idol Season 5.
Most of you saw my very Public Journey through Indian Idol and the Win of Indian idol 5 will always remain very dear to my heart! My Mentors, Sunidhi Chauhan ji, Anu Malik ji & Salim ji guided me throughout my Indian Idol days and until today are huge sources of inspiration to me!
The Indian Idol 5 Win led me to enter Bollywood through Yash Raj Films with my first 2 Songs from Mere Brother Ki Dulhan namely “Madhubala” & “Ishq Risk”, the Club Mix Version. My First Blockbuster Hit Song was with Himesh Reshamiya ji for the Movie Khiladi 786. The song “Balma” threw a completely different light on my Vocal Skills as it challenged and popularized me in Bollywood. Thereon I went on to singing various Hit Songs in Bollywood such as “Subhanallah” from Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani and over 200 songs in 7 other languages such as Telugu, Tamil, Bengali, Gujrati, Singhalese, Kannada & English. One of the greatest Milestones of my Journey has been singing “Rehnuma”, the Indian Idol Winning song, which became a part of the Soundtrack for The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.
I have also had the opportunity to showcase my other personal Passions; both Acting and Dancing through my Telugu Movies “Prema Geema Jaanta Nai” and “Sri Jagadguru Aadi Sankara”. Similarly, I would love to Entertain my Bollywood fans with Acting in Hindi Movies very soon as well …
Not many people know but I also worked on an Ad Campaign with Hero Motocycles that Featured Mr. Salman Khan which has been one of the greatest achievements of my life!
I would have never been here without all of you – my Fans who have always been there for me and have been the reason for all my Successes! Thank you all once again, I hope to see you all somewhere in the World to share my Music and Spread the Love …. 🙂
Love you all
Now and Forever – Yours,
